Patti Cody
Patti was born and raised in Pontiac, Michigan. She majored in Voice with minors in piano and education at Central Michigan University. She has degrees in Music and Elementary Education. She began singing and playing the piano at an early age, and decided she wanted to be a Music Teacher when she was in sixth grade. She started teaching Music in Michigan in 1976, and has taught general music, directed choral groups, and taught voice and piano lessons in Michigan, Wisconsin, Maine and, Vermont. The past 24 years she has taught in Arlington, Vermont where she teaches pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade general music, elementary chorus, middle school chorus, high school chorus, and directs a Fall elementary musical and a spring Middle School musical. She also directs several groups before school: Patti’s Angels, (an all-girls singing group made up of 6-12 graders), and the AMHS Madrigals (a select group of high school students). She takes Middle and High School students to the District and All State Music Festivals, and is involved in the Southern Vermont Music District, the Vermont State, New England, and National Music Teachers Associations. Patti takes her Choral groups to various venues in Southern Vermont to sing a few times a year. Patti received the Battenkill Valley Teacher of the Year award in the late 90's and the Vermont Music Teacher of The Year award through the Vermont Alliance for Music Education in 2009." In addition to teaching, Patti does solo piano work in the Southern Vermont for weddings and funerals. Music is Patti’s passion, and it shows in everything she does.

Darryl Kniffen teaches instrumental music, music projects, and media production at the Arlington school district. He holds a master's degree and bachelor's degree in music education from Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam. Darryl is a frequent guest speaker at his alma mater, discussing curriculum design and project-based learning. Darryl presented on "Project-Based Learning in The General Music Classroom" at the Vermont Music Educators Association Fall Conference 2014 in Killington, VT. He also presented on "Popular Music Pedagogy" at the Suncoast Music Education Research Symposium 2011 in Tampa, Fl and at the New York State School Music Association Winter Conference 2009 in Rochester, NY. In addition to teaching, Darryl composes contemporary jazz and leads his own jazz sextet.
